You can always tell if a cookie recipe is going to turn out well by tasting the dough. You agree right?
As soon as I tasted this Swig Sugar Cookie dough I knew my life had changed. Okay not really. But making these cookies completely ruined my next two days of healthy meal planning. And I don’t think I’m going to need to try any other sugar cookie recipes for a while! These were sooooooo good. Like sell at a bakery good. Oh wait they already do.
Let me rewind. Last weekend after seeing Mandi’s cookies on Pinterest I knew I was going to end up making them. Don’t you love/hate that about Pinterest and food blogs? You see a food photo (always seems to be a dessert) that looks so incredibly delicious and you just have to make it. I even made an extra trip to the store with two kids to get sour cream for the frosting. And it was so worth it! You won’t regret making these sugar cookies. Promise!
The sugar cookies are thick, soft, not too sweet and you serve them cold! A cold cookie is Hawaii is heaven! And then the sour cream frosting on top is the perfect combo!
Okay so before you run off and make them I have a few notes …
// Make sure you start with a big enough mixing bowl. I made the mistake of thinking that all the dough could fit into my Ninja Dough Mixer and well 5 cups of flour is a lot. Opps!
// I didn’t add the salt to the frosting like the recipe calls for. I didn’t think it needed it. Total personal preference.
Now go ahead! Make the best sugar cookies ever!

PS- Notice I don’t personally have any photos of the finished cookies?
^^ The photo above is Mandi’s. It’s the one that lured me in ^^
I took like 5 photos of my finished cookies but I was so worried about taking the photos quick so I could eat another cookie that I didn’t even take a second to look at the photos. They were all blurry. Maybe next time. There will be a next time!
