Today I want to share my latest custom client project! Holly and Nat from My Sister’s Suitcase emailed me about re-designing their blog and I was super excited! I have read their blog for a long time and love their style!
As you know I am a loyal Genesis girl. Seriously. I will not ever use a different wordpress theme. (here is why) For Holly & Nat’s design we used Genesis + The Foodie Child Theme. It features lots of open white space, a stylized homepage with a featured posts and then posts in columns, and the #1 feature of the Foodie theme, the project index. The project index in the Foodie Theme was actually designed as a Recipe Index but I have had several clients lately who have wanted to use it as a Project Index. I think it’s genius! The project index automatically updates and feature new posts by category. Anything with the word “automatically” is my best friend. Project Index = Two thumbs up!
My blog also runs on the Foodie Theme and one of my main reasons for choosing it was … The post index. :) Pretty much rocks!
As far as colors Holly and Nat wanted to do a black and white design with a touch of green. We also mixed in a Dalmatian pattern background and I love it!
