It seems like there is a new resource for “learning about blogging” every single day. It’s hard to figure out what’s worth your money and actually useful.
I thought it would be helpful to share my favorite blogging resources with you. I have been in the industry since 2009 – I’ve tried a lot of things! These are my absolute favorite companies that I currently use to run my business. I’ll add more resources as I use different products and services that are worth mentioning!

Email Marketing
Convertkit – An Email Marketing for Online Creators. If I had to suggest only one thing to a new blogger it would start an email list with Convertkit. I have used Aweber and Mailchimp in the past and Convertkit is the easiest to learn and most powerful email tool. The interface is beautiful, has endless amounts of automation and the customer service is great!
Email lists are the best way to stay in touch with readers, feed them your useful content and the best part – there aren’t any algorithm changes to worry about! Comes with a free trial!
Email on Autopilot – This is a step by step course on making money with your email list while on autopilot! Matt is a phenomenal teacher and I have worked with him personally! He teaches
Software
Adobe Photoshop – As a graphic designer this is my number one used program. It is the industry standard. Even if you aren’t a graphic designer you will still need a photo editing program of some type to make Pinterest images and edit photos. If you want fun fonts to use in photoshop read my Top 15 Fonts from 2018 (really it’s 100+ fonts once you include all the bundles!)
Social Media
The Pinterest Launch Planner – This is an eBook for learning to create a Pinterest strategy. After all, Pinterest is the #1 traffic source for most bloggers. The eBook walks you through setting up a Pinterest account and implementing a Pinterest strategy. Honestly, I only used about half the info in the eBook but still felt like it was worth my $27. I was able to use the techniques taught and go from 5k Pinterest view to 344k in a few weeks. That’s a win in my book!
Tailwind – This is a Pinterest scheduler. It is an amazing tool and time saver! There is no way I could manage Pinterest without it. I spend about 1-2 hours a week scheduling all my pins ahead of time. Tailwind pins them at the best times and gives you lots of analytics. I wish you could pay monthly instead of having to pay for a year at a time but I still do it because Tailwind is that important to me!
Total Blogging Guides
There are two courses I 100% recommend. I learned so much through these two resources! They are both only open to new students a few times a year. They are worth
Sticky Blogging – Kelly Holmes is a blogging genius. She teaches a course about blogging and it was totally eye-opening for me. I took this course 8 years into blogging and I learn a TON! No more chasing the page views or crazy social media posting schedules. Just good content that people can’t tear their eyes away from that makes you money. Her course is not like any other and I learned so much from it!
Kelly also teaches a course called Sticky SEO (open for enrollment NOW!) which is also incredible. SEO can be so intimidating and scary. But Kelly clears it all up! I have seen traffic from Google increased by 2x on my own site! Use the Sticky SEO to get readers and the Sticky Blogging to keep them coming back and converted to true fans.
Food Blogger Pro – Even though this is specific for food blogging I took the whole course and learned so much! It covers everything from setting up a blog, Google Search Consol, making videos, taking photos,

Photography
Tasty Food Photography – Taking photos is a big part of blogging! And guess what??? I don’t have a fancy DSLR camera. I have always used my iPhone for photos. I currently have the iPhone XR but used an iPhone SE before that. The Tasty Food Photography Ebook uses a DSLR but I was able to learn a lot from this ebook about setting up a shoot, lighting, placement, the rule of thirds, and editing! Highly recommend!
That’s the list I have for you right now – If you have questions about any of these products let me know!
